TMC widen the track
TMC Australia, the Melbourne based specialist supplier of trailer disc brake axles and airbag suspension systems, are busily reacting to increased demand for non-standard axles.

“We have been inundated recently with enquiries for non-standard axles from all parts of Australia.  That seems to have resulted from the decision made by two of our competitors, in one case switching their manufacturing offshore and in the other case closing down that part of their business completely,” said TMC Managing Director, Brendan Dullard.
He adds that the move suits TMC well as they were already very focused on a specialist ‘niche’, with added product customisation and the flexibility to supply what the customer really needs being their main differentiator.
“Nowadays, if the customer wants his axle at any given track length, we can do it and we can deliver it in a relatively short time-frame,” he said.
“Besides the axle at a non-standard track length, we can also equip it with our well-proven LMV 9-tonne or XP 12-tonne airbag suspension because we do it all in-house here in Australia”
“Over the two years since we moved into our Hallam facility, we have fine-tuned our dedicated air suspension assembly line and now we are adding to that the capability to produce these non-standard variants,” he said.
TMC say this new production area will be fully operational by early 2007.
Recent offerings made available by TMC include short track axle variants for lazy axle fitment and car carriers, 10 stud 225 and 3-spoke spider axles for low loaders, as well as wide-track axles for super-single or special off-highway
