Easy clean alloy wheels.

TMC Australia, best known for its special purpose axles and airbag suspension solutions, now brings to market ‘easy clean’ alloys to compliment its range of steel and alloy wheels.   Download pdf Developed in conjunction with its Taiwanese supplier, the newest offering from TMC Australia “is specifically targeted at certain sectors of the market”, says TMC Managing Director, Brendan Dullard.   “For some years now, TMC has enjoyed a strong following for its axle and suspension equipment amongst the major tipper and machinery carrier builders around Australia. As a result, we were constantly hearing mention of operators who struggle to keep their equipment looking clean and tidy working every day in dirty and dusty conditions.   “When we first started to import our alloy wheels, now almost 3 years ago, we impressed upon our supplier the need in the Australian market for an easy-to-clean product. Hitherto, there has only been one such product available, which is at the top end of the scale in terms of price. Although our new easy clean wheel is not so bright and shiny like the competitor’s product, local testing seems to indicate it cleans up much better. The wheel has undergone rigorous trials in Taiwan and is manufactured using the very latest technology in aluminium protection.   “When we brought in the samples for evaluation some months back, we put the product out on trial in some really testing environments.”   One such test was carried out by Andrew de Jong of Andway Haulage in Cardinia.  According to Andrew, “We carry 36 tonne legal on a 19 metre B-double under contract to Elders Fertilisers. We do a lot of rough dirt-road type work. The trailers and particularly the wheels take quite a battering. When asked to give the new TMC alloys a try, we were happy to do it and are even happier with the result. Fertilisers are really harsh on the aluminium wheels; other wheels lose their appearance in the first 3 months of service but not these easy-cleans.
